Q1: Could you tell us a little about yourself and how your artistic journey began?

I’ve always been deeply connected to the world of art from a young age. Growing up in India, I was fascinated by how art can transcend boundaries and convey powerful messages. I have been told that I started painting at the age of one and half years. Throughout my early life, I found myself exploring and learning different mediums of art and Indian crafts from amazing teachers. This personal exploration quickly blossomed into a medium to share my peaceful experiences with the world, through the medium of art.

Q2. What has been the core inspiration behind your art over the years?

My core inspiration has always been the possibility of the opportunity to spread ‘peace through art’. Elders have helped me understand that art has the power to convey a message very deeply, to question our actions, to heal, uplift, and even connect people back to the tranquillity of nature. We find this reflected in so many different traditional arts of India and the world.

Q3. You have celebrated 25 years in the world of art. What has this milestone meant to you?

Reaching this milestone has been fulfilling. It has served as a reflection of my growth as a human, a parent, and as an artist by giving me an opportunity to look back, learn and improve. It has also helped me to understand the resilience and commitment needed to continue creating meaningful work. Best of all, it has given be an opportunity to thank all those who have directly or indirectly contributed to the success of my work.

Q4. What role do your cultural roots play in your artwork?

My cultural heritage is incredibly important to me. Indian culture, with its rich symbolism and spiritual depth, plays a significant role in the themes I explore. Yet, the art I have the opportunity to create is mostly a mix of realism and abstract, with the outcomes that are globally appealing.

Q5. What are the themes and titles of your new art collections? Have you created a new ‘Peace Lies Within’ collection of paintings?

The first ‘Peace Lies Within’ collection was created in 2011. It was loved by people from around the world and found homes globally. The new ‘Peace Lies Within’ collection has finally been created in 2025 and is now available for everyone.
The other collections include ‘Blessings from the Stars’, ‘Peace in Nature’, and ‘Stairs to Success’.

Q6. How do you select the mediums you work with?

The medium is selected based on the emotion I want to convey. For instance, watercolors express a delicate, flowing sense of calm, while oil pastels are used for deeper, bolder expressions. I experiment with various mixed media to see which best captures the essence of what I wish to paint.

Q7. Can you explain your art collection ‘Peace Lies Within’ in more detail?

PEACE LIES WITHIN is a collection of original paintings, made directly by permanent markers on paper, with confident strokes- which when once created can neither be rubbed or changed. Each stroke reflects clarity and a deep sense of innate peace. These black and white paintings, some stroked with shimmering watercolours, can be placed almost everywhere including homes, offices, meditative spaces & some even in kids rooms.
Over all they depict the extraordinary capabilities of a human being to be inwardly peaceful and remain connected to truth, even in the middle of the greatest of turmoil or glamour. Looking at these paintings frequently, even while performing difficult tasks, can remind the observer of the innate peace which lies within him/ her, and thus be closer to success.

Q8. How do you feel when someone buys your art?

It’s incredibly humbling. Knowing that someone connects deeply with my work and chooses to invite it into their home or life is a profound honour. It validates their deeper connection to the piece which lies within them.

Q9. How do you feel about the way your work is awarded, featured by press and media and is appreciated globally?

I’m grateful that my work resonates with people across different cultures and backgrounds. Art is a universal language, and to see my creations appreciated, awarded and featured worldwide is both fulfilling and humbling.

Q10. What can we expect from you in the next 25 years of your artistic journey?

During past decade, many parents and teachers had asked me to share the way we educated Manikya at home. Eventually, I had the opportunity to share some of these methods through the medium of self-illustrated stories and educational books. In the coming years, I aspire to continue creating paintings, but also illustrate and write books for parents, to help them to empower their kids. Along with having a worldwide appeal, I would like these books and resources to be able to help families in villages & towns. The basis of all my work would continue to be to ‘spread peace through art’ and education.

Extra Questions…

Did you help other artists? Did you have a community of artists when you started?

Initially I had started my art career by doing illustrations for designers. Also taught as an illustration teacher in design schools.

I would create original paintings for sale only in spare time or on holidays. But eventually when my work started getting International recognition, I came in contact with many amazing artists online, from all around the world. At that time, I started holding free monthly international art contests based on various themes. Artwork of seven winning artists was featured on my art website (which ranked on top on google during all those years). This display was called ‘Seven Wonders of the World’, and had gained a lot of popularity.

We also conducted many on the spot painting contests for kids in our area. These were not organized with a competitive spirit, but were help with an intention to provide a way for all kids to express their creativity. Winner were chosen, but artworks of all children were encouraged and applauded equally, during these events. Their artworks were also displayed in our Lifecare center for all visitors to see.

A  community of professional artists, and talented budding young artists got automatically got created due to these and other initiatives.

How do you price your art?

I have always priced my art with a very simple formula.

Cost of Artwork = (Rate per hour in that year x number of hours taken to create that artwork ) + (cost of all materials & overheads)

In this way, the true cost of each artwork/painting can be determined.

Note: Applicable taxes, payment gateway cost, packaging cost & shipping/ courier charges can also be added if you are selling online.

Some Tips:

  1. There are many ways to determine your cost per hour when you are just starting out. You can do your research and find out.

One of the ways which some artists adopt is to understand about how much you could be earning in a creative job (with the present skills you have). Then figure out the cost per hour you would receive in that job, and price your paintings/ artworks accordingly.

2. Always package your art professionally, even when you are just starting out.

3. Ensure packaging is seal proof / water proof and the artwork/painting will not tear or crease while shipping.

4. Add a Certificate of Authenticity (duly signed and stamped) for each original artwork, separately. (learn more about it if you are new to this concept).

5. Always add a thank you note, along with details about how to care for that particular painting/ artwork.

6. Add your email/ website/ social media page details etc so that your buyer can look into your other work (if they wish to buy more from you/ or recommend your work to another buyer).

How did you sell your art?

Initially most of my art got sold during the talks and programs I used to hold in my own premises. I also had opportunity to create art/paintings (from Peace Lies Within collection) to be given as personized gifts to chief guests on major events. Some of my artworks were also adopted into creative products distributed free during Blood Donation Camps, Anti-pollution Drives etc.

I have never had to need to display my work in art galleries.

In later years, I focused most of my time on creating hand-made art for book covers and illustrations for inner pages of books written by me or my son.

My new collection of art & paintings is now available for viewing, online on this website.

FAQ’S ABOUT MANIKYA

How Meditation, Yoga And Indian Wisdom Shaped A Globally Inspiring, Indian Prodigy Author Achiever – Manikya Sanghi

Let’s hear this untold story in this special Interview with Anjali Sanghi, who is the mother of Manikya Sanghi – an internationally loved, 16 years old Indian prodigy author achiever; youngest certified screenwriter in the world, polymath, philatelist, philanthropist, advanced yoga and meditation practitioner. ~ Daily Hunt July 28, 2025.

Q1: Manikya is known worldwide for his remarkable achievements at such a young age. Could you tell us where it all began?

Manikya’s journey has truly been guided by love and blessings of innumerable people. At birth, Manikya was given only few days to live. But he bravely fought his way out of the impossible. Who knew that this little one would one day be known as ‘The Gem of India’.

Seeing the empowering environment of several Indian traditions being meaningfully followed around him, Manikya took to them wholeheartedly from a very young age. That was his first stepping stone to success.

Q2: At what age did you start noticing signs of his extraordinary talents?

Very early on. As a toddler, Manikya showed an intense interest in Meditation and Yoga. This early discipline really shaped his mind and sparked an insatiable curiosity for learning. By the age of 3, he was not only reading complex words & encyclopaedias, but actually understanding and comprehending them.

Q3: How did meditation and yoga impact him so early in life?

We often hear recommendations about how kids should start with meditation right from their early years. Most kids cannot sit with their eyes closed even for few moments. But if kids can actually be introduced to meditation under the able guidance of a Mentor, who truly understands them; then the results which can come out, cannot be called nothing short of miracles. Manikya is a shining example of this Indian tradition.

Starting Yoga and Meditation early, helped Manikya’s inner talents sparkle. He also developed extraordinary focus and the ability to learn from everywhere and everyone. Meditation seemed to nurture his inner calm, strengthen his senses, enhance his ability to learn deeply and observe keenly. Most importantly, it helped Manikya to understand life from a deeper and positive perspective, right from childhood.

Q4: How did he channel all this knowledge at such a young age?

Manikya began converting his learnings and observations by creating and narrating original, on the spot stories. These weren’t just simple childish tales; they were actually empowering, and reflected Manikya’s deep comprehension of inner experiences and life itself. Manikya’s stories would often enthral his listeners about the depth of inner experiences that he had at such a young age.

We loved them, but never thought about recording them at that time. But as he grew, I started audio recording most part of his novel series at the age of 9 years. He narrated each chapter separately, and then typed it out from that recording.

Q5: That’s so wonderful. Did his food and lifestyle choices also reflect traditional Indian values?

Manikya’s early childhood was difficult due certain food sensitivities he had at that time. Thus,  as a young child, he was very mindful about what he consumed. He predominantly had food rich in Indian millets and also chose to follow Indian phalahari (seasonal fruit-based) diet during the times of his recovery. He also learnt and followed several other holistic healthcare practices which stem from Indian origin, as well as different parts of the world.

In fact, he inspired innumerable kids and families on the go, to explore and adapt into good food habits and lifestyle choices.

Q6: We heard that you had to home-school Manikya initially for some time. Please share something about your experience.

We were advised to educate Manikya at home while he was in the phase of overcoming his food sensitivities. He had an amazing time learning in those years. Seeing his knowledge, achievements and interests, Manikya later received admission in one of the best schools in India, in grade 3.

During his years of home-schooling, Manikya was fortunate to observe and interact with many kids and people from different backgrounds. They included — Indian artisans, farmers, chefs, woodworkers, musicians, dancers, doctors, healthcare professionals, parents, teachers, and even international speakers whom we met during our travels, and programs in which I was often invited to speak. These real-world exposures gave him practical insights, far beyond his years.

He also continued to learn from everything around him — plants, animals, nature, experiences, even the silence.

Q7: We also heard that Manikya developed a keen interest in philately. How did that come about?

Manikya began collecting stamps and coins from the age of 3 years, often requesting them from travellers. It became a passion. He was not just a collector; but he also spent a lot of time   studying and learning through them. This hobby opened his mind to global cultures, their histories, flora, fauna and so much more. He also helped other kids learn through his collections, along with setting a new world record in Philately.

Q8: When did Manikya begin engaging with the public and sharing his ideas more widely? How did he serve the society?

Manikya’s prudent lifestyle choices eventually led him to deeper understanding of life, exceptional achievements and service of the society. By the age of 4 years in 2013, Manikya had his own homemade website and a social media page, through which he became the source of inspiring families in India and around the world. People, parents and celebrities have applauded his efforts time and again.

Press and Media regularly encouraged, covered and featured Manikya and his endeavours.

Manikya also regularly (and anonymously) donated all his income from books and proceeds he received (as gifts from elders), towards various public welfare initiatives. He often donated stationary, food and other things of need to children from economically weaker sections of the society. He specially took lot of initiative to collect funds for children with special needs.

Manikya believed in doing little acts of kindness daily, and also became a part of various philanthropic initiatives at a weekly level under the guidance of his Honourable Mentor.

Manikya has also helped many Students writers to become authors. He gave many talks and took online session for children and their parents especially during the pandemic. Also, Manikya’s efforts to fulfil all his endeavours at minimum cost, have been very inspiring for families of different income groups, to help their talented children succeed in life.

Q9: At what age did he officially become an author and a certificated scriptwriter?

Manikya eventually wrote and published his first book at the age of 5 years, second book at 6, First Novel at 9. Manikya became certified Screenwriter at the age of 13 years and wrote his first screenplay, which was turned into comics and widely appreciated. By the age of 14 years Manikya became a successful author of over 21 books.

Manikya has set many new World Records, National Records and Group World Records in the fields of writing, screenwriting, philately, pranayama, coding, music, dance, sports among others. His achievements have been acknowledged by International Book of Records, Record Holders Republic, Hope International World Records, India Book of Records, Guinness Book of Records, among others.

Manikya has also been conferred with most prestigious national and international awards as an author, scriptwriter, polymath, philatelist, coder, student and more.

Q10: That’s truly phenomenal. How does Manikya view his journey so far?

Manikya says, “From a child who could not go to school, I became an internationally award-winning author achiever and multiple world record holder under the constant guidance, and by doing meditations of my Honourable Mentor.”

This invaluable guidance and his deep meditation practices have been the bedrock of his journey.

Q11: Where can readers, parents, kids and educators find Manikya’s books today?

Manikya’s books are available globally through Amazon, Flipkart, Pothi, and Scholastic India. His work includes impactful short storybooks, life-skills-inspiring comics, Hindi alphabet learning books, Games, and award-winning Novel series, among others. His writing continues to impact lives around the world.

Q12: Lastly, as a mother, how do you feel seeing this journey unfold? And where can we follow Manikya’s work and updates?

It’s humbling and deeply fulfilling. Watching your child not only survive but grow into someone who inspires and uplifts others — it’s a blessing. Gratitude to everyone who has directly and indirectly helped to make this possible; and continues to do so.

You can visit Manikya’s website www.ChroniclesOfTierra.com or follow him on Instagram @manikya.official

Extra Questions…

Q. Which method did you use to Home school Manikya?

I feel thankful that we took an informed decision to understand different kinds of education systems (both formally and informally), during the years in which Manikya was being transitioned into home schooling.

I have had the opportunity to attend  teacher’s training courses for:

-Early Childhood Education and Care (IGNOU)

-Waldorf/Steiner Education

-Montessori Education etc.

We did add the good aspects of above educational systems into our home life, for certain amounts of time.

Eventually we decided to continue to educate Manikya through the methods taught to us by our respected Mentor. We had already been using our Mentor’s methods and guidance to teach Manikya since his birth. These methods worked for us successfully under both circumstances – while educating him at home & even after he started going to school. They were very easy to follow and did not require us to change much in our present lifestyle.

We have continued to follow our Mentor’s methods and guidance even while Manikya studied in higher classes. It has brought him excellence beyond books, along with deep interest and understanding of all subjects. He has always received exceptional marks in exams, along with excelling in co-curriculars; becoming a successful child author and also a responsible all-rounder.

You can read a brief about my educational background Here in Linkedin

You and Manikya have received many prestigious awards. Why don't we see many photos of you both on stage?

We go very selective award functions. And press interviews also. So there aren’t many photos for us to share (except for the awards which were held online during covid). Both me and Manikya have very kindly been invited for tv interviews; for holding sessions in seminars, Ted talks and various other prestigious platforms. However, looking at our present priorities and family responsibilities, travelling hasn’t been an option.

Still we are very thankful that people give us so many opportunities to share about our lives and what we have learnt.

FAQ’S ABOUT RAW FOOD

Successful Transition Into Raw Food Diet, And Back To Original Lifestyle After 4 Years. Exclusive Interview Of Anjali Sanghi

We bring to you an exclusive interview with Anjali Sanghi where we dwell into her successful transition into a 4 year raw food diet and back to her original lifestyle. Anjali Sanghi is a distinguished Indian artist, award-winning author, and educational innovator. She is well known for her innovations is various fields, which include her award winning Recipe Books. She has also dedicated over 25 years in inspiring people worldwide, through her creative works & ‘Spreading Peace through Art’.  ~ Asian Talks, July 21, 2025.

Q1. When and why did you start a raw food diet? Was your transition overnight or over a period of time?

“In early 2013, me and my son needed change in diet due to some separate food sensitivities we were experiencing. Along with my previous experiences in holistic healthcare and nutrition, I consulted specialists to help bring step by step transition into my cooked diet. During this time I also came across different kinds of raw food diets. I deeply researched into them, and came across what was most suitable for me. Eventually, I started that raw food diet. It may seem like an overnight transition, but in reality it had actually taken many months of step by step progress to successfully transition into raw food diet.”

Q2. Which benefits of raw food diet you experienced? Why did you not experience severe detox symptoms like many people do when they try to start or transition into a raw food diet?

Within 3 days of raw food diet, I felt several benefits, higher energy levels and overall betterment. As per my experiences shared in above reply of Question 1, I did not experience severe detox symptoms which may appear in the beginning of a diet transition. The reason being that I had transitioned into it in a very step by step and informed way. I was also made aware about difference between disease and detox symptoms. I also knew the significance of leading a well-balanced and good lifestyle, instead of only focusing on the diet.

Q3. Why did you home school your son during this period? Has he joined school or is he still being home-schooled?

My son was also eventually transitioned under supervision, into a fully raw diet. It was ensured that his diet was suitable for his age and the nutrition he required. Along with the change in diet, we also followed other therapeutic practices which could help him overcome his food sensitivities. To help him to recover fully, he was advised to transition from schooling to home-schooling. During this time I undertook many courses and teacher’s training to continue his education at home. He enjoyed his days of home schooling, where he had the opportunity to learn freely as per his heart’s content.

Seeing his educational & co-curricular excellence, after 4 years, he received admission into a good school in India.

Q4. How did you ensure your son was socially accepted and mingled with other kids of his age, and other people, at a day to day level?

“We are aware that, we and our kids do not ask each other about the diet we follow when we meet each other. We start talking to each other based on many other factors. This allows everyone to talk to each other at ease. Also kids are very quick to get along, and play. My son also met many children during classes, in parks, festivals and on nature & science visits.

“Due to the nature of my work he also accompanied me to seminars, fests, and had the opportunity to meet not only with kids of his age; but also with many inspiring personalities. These people not only included famous personalities, but also good people from all backgrounds. They included farmers, artisans, potters, smiths, teachers, doctors, professors, internationally renowned speakers, chefs among others. So he got to meet and interact with the best.”

Q5. Why did you transition from a raw food diet of 4 years to your original lifestyle?

“The long term raw food diet was very helpful for our overall well-being. It is well known that raw food has been used as medicine since ancient times. But it is also a fact that different ailments require different kinds of medicines and also medical advise.

“During these 4 years, we had enjoyed this simple life, overcome our previous issues and become stronger. But, I was facing a severe sensitivity towards pollution. The allergic reactions and constant weight loss had started to hamper my daily well-being. This required another kind of intervention for the body to heal deeply. When I started this next transition, I realised that me and my son were able to easily have cooked foods. Hence both of us, slowly and steadily came back to our original lifestyle.”

Q6. Why do you emphasise about change in lifestyle over change of diet?

“It is often said that many problems can be solved, just by realigning our lifestyle. Not so long ago, understanding of lifestyle a person followed was based on the goal they had in life. Generally the lifestyle practices were followed generation after generation. The lifestyle itself included many purification and other practices. The food choices in their lifestyle was based on local availability. The food was fresh and seasonal. Everything was prepared fresh, with hand. The timing of having food and quantity were followed properly. The long term food was also preserved in natural ingredients.

“Presently, the reasons for following a certain lifestyle choices have changed. The quality of food is also very different, than what it was few decades ago. But with good guidance of a kind Mentor, can help us reconnect to our true priorities, and guide us towards a lifestyle that is truly best for us and our future generations.

“It is well known that ancient Sages and Saints also used to have fully raw diets. But just ask your self – Can a modern person receive same or similar benefits in today’s times if they just shift to a fully raw diet?”

Q7. What were the most asked questions during your fully raw life?

The most asked questions were about topics like food raw food combinations and sequencing for good digestion.

But the most pressing questions always came from parents who wanted to transit their children into a high raw or fully raw diet. I always informed them about first understanding the fully raw life, much before considering it for their kids. Understanding your children deeply, their actual requirements, and gaining knowledge is very essential before taking the first step towards this.

Many people also said that they were not able to digest cooked foods without discomfort or pain, once they had transitioned into a long term fully raw food diet. Thus it is very important to take informed decisions and gain required knowledge about this, before transitioning.

Q8. What suggestions do you have for people from India who wish to be on a long term fully raw diet?

A suitable quantity of good quality fresh fruits and salad in daily diet is required by all. But if for any reason you wish to change to a fully raw diet for short term or long term; then the first step must always be to learn deeply about it. There are many different kinds of raw food diets which are advocated in India and around the world. Always be aware and cautious about what can suit you and what will not in long term. Informing family, having good relations, financial and other considerations can also help you to choose a right path to recovery and better health through good food and lifestyle.

We thank Anjali Sanghi for sharing her valuable experiences about raw food diet and lifestyle, for kids and adults.

FAQ’S ABOUT HOLISTIC HEALTHCARE

HOLISTIC HEALTHCARE

Holistic Healthcare

Q1. What is the meaning of Holistic Healthcare? How does it help common people?

In simple words, ‘Holistic’ here can refer to the process which looks at the person as a whole. It considers the state of health or disease by examining not just the affected area, but as the functioning of the whole being.

After studying deeply about Holistic Healthcare, I understand that it does not under-estimate the therapeutic effect of any kind of pathy (whether traditional or modern). It however emphasizes on the use of different & suitable pathies by the qualified practitioner – to help the person in need, to gain overall good health related to their problems (and not just an instant cure).

Other uses for common people can be for

~ Preventive medicine;

~ Supporting the Body towards effective detox;

~ Understanding oneself deeply and create a personalized lifestyle

Among others…

Q2. Why did you develop interest in learning about Holistic Healthcare?

I had many questions about life as a teenager, and many of them were about healthcare. I was born to a family with many amazing doctors both on the maternal and paternal side; and this sparked my interest in learning by asking more questions about health. I saw how there were many ways a doctor adopted, to the best of their ability to alleviate the suffering of their patients. I initially did not choose any field of healthcare as a profession. However in my early twenties, I had the most wonderful opportunity to attend a class at my Mentor’s Institute, It helped me understand how important this subject was for me. I immediately started learning deeply about it, and there is where it all began.

Q3. Which subjects have you studied in Holistic Healthcare and from where?

I have had the opportunity to attend and successfully complete many certified and advanced science based courses in various alternative therapies, under the guidance of my honourable Mentor. I have been fortunate to be able to complete some of these courses upto the Grand-Master level. I owe all my success to my Mentor, and the humanitarian approach to serve the needy, adopted by everyone at their Institute.

I eventually also joined and successfully completed PGD in Holistic Healthcare from Apollo Hospitals Education and Research Foundation, India. It included study of: Ayurveda, Clinical Acupuncture, Modern Medicine, Clinical Homeopathy, Naturopathy and Yoga Therapy, Nutrition Therapy, Psychotherapy, & Physical Therapy.

Please read my other Educational experiences in Holistic Healthcare & more subjects by clicking Here on Linkedin

Q4, Why did you clinically start practicing Holistic Healthcare and what was your experience? Did you prescribe any medicines to people?

I started practicing in Lifecare Center in 2003-24. Before proceeding further with and answering any questions, I would like to inform you that, I am not a medical or ayurvedic or homeopathic doctor etc. who would treat via prescribing medicines/treatments belonging to their respective fields. So I do not prescribe medicines to anyone. In-fact, I also have always consulted a qualified professional, if/whenever I or my son have required medicines.

Through my previous studies and experiences, I had a fair idea of which person would need to visit a doctor, and would honestly inform them to do so. It is also to be noted that a person mostly starts to explore alternative therapies when the effects of medicines have stopped working partially . Still, by consulting your medical practitioner and continuing treatment, along with starting a suitable & positive alternative treatment, can help elevate suffering.

During my 5 years of practice from 2003 to 2008 we had 99.9% success. All the practices which I adopted during my practice were non invasive, subtle and mostly suitable for elderly, men, women and kids alike. They included advanced seed therapy, magnet therapy, colour therapy, pain free hand acupuncture & acupressure.

Please read next questions for more information.

Q5, How did you make people aware about Holistic Healthcare?

In early 2000’s time was very different time, from h the world is now. People had a different and a more confident way of approaching towards a holistic lifestyle ad alternative therapies. At that time I was often invited to give talks in offices, heath groups, parks, parent groups and community events. We ourselves took initiatives to visit old age home, below poverty line group of maids etc. to share appropriate knowledge of holistic healthcare with them.

We also used to organize regular talks at our Lifecare Centre.

Q6. What did you do if the person who came to you required medical treatment instead of other therapies, or if they required advanced consultation in a therapeutic method you did not specialize in?

Kindly refer to the answer in Q4.

Q7. When did you stop your practice and why?

It is understandable, that in order to receive good results for every patient through Holistic Healthcare, the practitioner needs to do a lot research for each individual patient. The treatment plan should also be individualized to the needs of each patient. This is essential so that each patient can receive positive effects and maximum relief.

Searching through Google, or online mediums, or even AI cannot provide this kind of expertise. It has to be gained through deep understanding and study, of each kind of science behind the individualized treatment plan.

In 2008, there came a time that I required t focus on my self care in best way possible due to pregnancy. I was not able to find time for in-depth research required for each patient. At that time I decided to close all consultations. I also started redirecting everyone in need, to my respected Mentor etc.

However it was very humbling to see how people kept coming, even after many years, from other cities and towns to meet us, and attend my talks/ events. They used to also share their heartfelt experiences.

Q8, What did you do with this vast knowledge after you stopped practicing?

I continued giving talks, was invited as a speaker in many programs, and even spoke in several online international sessions on various topics.

Our ‘Fun To Learn’ Educational books and courses for parents were developed by keeping some important concepts of Holistic Healthcare as their core.

I have always continued to learn and research in this field, and still do not miss any opportunity to continue to do so .

Q9. How has all this learning helped you personally?

All this knowledge that that has kindly been bestowed upon me by life, my Mentor and teachers has helped me immensely. I had many questions as a child about myself and the world. I feel fortunate to have found answers for them, and also feel blessed for the new questions which now intrigue my mind. I have loved the fact that I know myself much more deeply; have found and experienced inner peace – in this quest of search of truth.

It has helped me to help my son, loved ones and serve the society.

Q10. What are your suggestions for those practitioners who are just starting out?

I have been told that there are very good courses these days, which make you ready for an effective and successful clinical practice of modern/alternative and traditional therapies. Indian Government has also taken amazing initiatives to support Indian Traditional & other therapies for the benefit of general public. Alternative therapy departments have also been included in many hospitals.

However if you are starting out on your own as a practitioner, then here are a few suggestions –

  • Always inform a new person about the treatment methods you follow. Answer their questions before staring the treatment.
  • When a person came in for the first time, I always used to ensure to note down all their issues, troubles, problems, pains etc. in detail in our first visit form. The person could go through the form and check if they have given all their details correctly, and then they would sign it. I would henceforth maintain the file of each person and also note down all their treatment plans etc. in detail. Once they overcame the problems they had come for, I still kept the files for few years in my records. This helps both the patient and the therapist in many ways.
  • Ensure to know the difference between disease and natural detox symptoms/ or self healing measures being taken by the body’s internal systems.
  • Before starting any treatment, ensure to inform the person about any detox symptoms or temporary aggravation of disease which they may see during the initial phase of the treatment.
  • Always take a signed consent from the person before starting your therapy/treatment.
  • Keep your treatment plan age appropriate and ability appropriate. We can understand this by the following example – before starting acupressure treatment for anyone, ensure that your body is able to handle it.
  • If the case is too complex for you, then pass it on to another qualified and experienced practitioner who can help the person in need.
  • Understand that there many not be a solution for every health problem. In some cases you can only provide relief. In some cases there may not be any visible betterment of symptoms. Ensure to talk about this before/ as treatment progresses.
  • Understand local, regional, national rights/ laws etc. for yourself as a therapist and your patient before starting your practice.

After few years of practice, all my personal consultations and courses were only for women. If a man insisted on 1:1 consultation or learning, then they had to be strictly be accompanied by their mother/wife/ sister or same female acquaintance (during all sessions). Changing times required me to take these measures and precautions, and putting them into practice helped me to stay safe. They worked well.
