INGREDIENTS

DATES PASTE

40 Soft dated- pitted

Some drinking water to blend

RAISINS PASTE

200 grams soft raisins- washed and pre-soaked for 30 minutes or more

Some drinking water to blend

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

Blender

1 big Sieve

1 Plate, Spoon and Bowl

HOW TO CREATE

  1. Remove the seeds from dates. Cut them into finer pieces with your hands.
  2. Now soak them 15-20 minutes in a bowl with some water (just enough to cover them).
  3. Keep blending by adding little quantity o water to bring the paste to a desired thick consistency.
  4. Now take a big sieve and sieve the paste through it.
  5. This will remove any bigger pieces left while blending and make the paste smooth.
  6. Re-blend the bigger pieces with some water. Sieve and add to previously ready paste.
  7. Pour into a bowl and store in cool dry place, or refrigerate if not being used immediately.
  8. Can also be refrigerated upto 10 days and used whenever required.

NOTE: The thicker you keep the paste, more days it will stay fine in the refrigerator.

RECIPE NOTES

  • Remember to wash all ingredients properly before starting to use them for the recipe.
  • Keep paste thicker for longer life.
  • If you want to use de-seeded dates -without soaking them, then after placing them in the blender, start blending them only with little water. Initially the blender might make little louder noise. After half-to-one minute add more water and keep blending till desired consistency is achieved.
